MATH 1st Internship
After learning about the 3D solid shapes in the Geometry unit in grade 5 math, students drew cubes and pyramids on dotted paper. They then created a building by tracing it onto tracing paper and colouring it! Students enjoyed this math activity which integrated art.
As an end-of unit project for grade 5 Geometry, students built bridges out of bristle board in groups of 4 or 5. We then tested the bridges to see how much weight they could hold.

Above are a few sample slides of a smart board lesson on 3D solids in the grade 5 Geometry unit. The PDF file is above to see the entire lesson that I taught at during my placement at NMES on November 24, 2014.
Art and Math!
At NMES each class decorated a Christmas tree to put in the Gym for the Christmas Concert. We had just completed the unit on Geometry we made triangular, cubes, and dodecahedron nets for the ornaments.
